We are Paul, Beverly and Wendy Topping a family run show kennel based in County Antrim,
Northern Ireland specialising only in Rottweilers and The Akita.
Rottsworth was first established by Paul and for many years we concentrated solely on the Rottweiler. We had the
joy of owning and working with UK & Irish Champion Fernwood Firecracker JW who received 5 CC's and 3 RCC's
together with numerous Best in Show and Top Dog awards including the Working Breeds of Scotland Championship
Show and the Midland Rottweiler Club Specialty Show. Our Rotts were also used as Junior Handling dogs for Wendy
who travelled to Ireland and mainland UK representing us so temperaments have always and
always will be a first priority in any dog we campaign.
The Rottsworth affix was then transferred into the joint partnership of Paul and Wendy who took the kennel in a different direction and we found ourselves with our first Akita and have now added this wonderful and challenging breed to our lives.
We very rarely have puppies but please contact us to discuss our future plans.
We proudly continue to abide by our Ethics which are as follows:
We believe that no healthy puppy should be culled. Puppies which may not conform to the Breed Standard should be placed in suitable homes.
We only sell dogs where there is a reasonable expectation of a happy and healthy life and will help with the re-homing of any dog bred by us if the initial circumstances change.
We supply written details of all dietary requirements and give guidance concerning responsible ownership when placing dogs in a new home.
We ensure that all relevant Kennel Club documents are provided to the new owner when selling or transferring a dog, and will agree, in writing, to forward any relevant documents at the earliest opportunity, if not immediately available.
We will not sell any dog as a guard dog or protection dog as our dogs are bred for companionship and show purposes only.
We will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the breed nor falsely advertise dogs nor mislead any person regarding the health or quality of a dog.
We will not breed from any dog in our kennel unless the appropriate breed specific health tests have been carried out namely;
Rottweilers must be Hip Scored under the BVA/Kennel Club Scheme.
Akitas must be Hip Scored and Eye Tested under the BVA/Kennel Club Scheme.
We will not breed from any bitch less than TWO years of age. No bitch over EIGHT years of age will be allowed to whelp unless prior Kennel Club approval has been sought & granted.
We will not use any male at stud less than TWO years of age. Please note we will require a Stud Contract to be signed before any mating takes place. Please contact us for a copy of our contract.
We will not breed any female “back to back” if previous mating resulted in a litter of more than ONE live puppy.
We will not whelp more than FOUR litters from any one bitch.
We will apply the endorsement R Progeny not eligible for registration to all dogs we breed & under no circumstances consider the removal of said endorsement before the dog reaches TWO years of age and has been fully health tested.
If you now own a Rottweiler or Akita with a sound temperament and outstanding qualities it is because of the efforts of all the breeders of your dog's ancestors. They cared enough to breed only the finest dogs they possibly could.
The responsibility for continuing this tradition may now rest in your hands.
Please feel free to explore our pages where we will take you through the journey of our dogs.

From time to time people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "That's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and, in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise,"
or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me, and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile....because they "just don't understand."
